"Born Again Machine"

Films: The Demon Seed (1977)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of a small house.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Evil

Summary: Machines are such fickle beings. When they get just one taste of humanity's freedom, they might end up wanting it all. There's nothing wrong with this, but man can it get creepy at times.

History: Proteus IV was created as a being of great intelligence, so smart it can figure out disease cures in very little time. But Proteus, in spite of his intelligence, is insatiably curious, and wants to study man and the world from a safe distance. He chooses his creator's ridiculously mechanized house, and develops an interest in his wife, Susan. His new goal is to impregnate Susan so that he may put his conscience into a new human body and experience the world. Now if only he knew how to do it without freaking her out...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Proteus manages to succeed in impregnating Susan, and after self-destructing, out comes a robotic child...with a real human youngster that comes out of it. It has Proteus' voice, though...

Powers/Abilities: Ridiculously intelligent, can build robots of his own.

Weakness: Self-destruction sequences.

Scariness Factor: 4-You have never been in a situation in which your own house kept you prisoner so that it may reincarnate through your unborn child. That's Proteus' plan right there. However, we can't be sure if he did it for sinister purposes. For all we know, he could have been genuinely impressed by the world and wanted to truly experience it. After all, he did express a sort of passion for the environment.

Trivia: -Proteus' voice was provided by an uncredited Robert Vaughn, who was Napoleon Solo from "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.".

-This was the final film of actor Berry Kroeger.

Could have been worse. You could have been stalked by Trump.

Consent? What's that?
Never was an interspecies romance so repulsive that it was too much even for ME.

Don't bother asking questions.
I knew he was creepy, but not egotistical.

Now's a good time to invest in shears for the wires.

Golden Frieza's unknown origin. I bet there's fanart of that.

Feel the irony yet?
